THIS MONTH I REFUSE TO SEE...

HOODWINKED TOO: HOOD VS EVIL!

There's not really much to say about why I would avoid this film like the plague. I saw the first Hoodwinked when it came out as it seemed like it could be funny. Then I saw it and was more or less displeased. I found it boring, and although it had it's moments, the animation was uninspiring and flat. When your an animated film up against pretty much anything from Pixar or even Shrek, you have to step up your game. I believed the film, the story or the characters would never see the light of day again.

Yet here we are, five years later and the animation still looks like it sucks (despite s0me minimal improvement). While I agree that perhaps the second should get the chance to prove itself as being better than the first, the trailer shows me nothing I think I'll like. This may be one for the kids (the little buggers eat up 3-D films like crack, these days) , but with films like Rio and Hop also coming out this month, I don't think Hoodwinked Too really had a chance anyways. I guess we'll see when it comes out to end this month on April 29th.

After how much you've idealized little red from the Sasktel ads, you're not going to see the Hoodwinked sequel?? For shame, haha.

I liked the first hoodwinked, thought it was underrated. Sure it wasn't as pretty as pixar but the take on the classic story was good. And if you watch any other crappy kids cartoon (thumbelina) its light years ahead.

With that said there is no way I'd go to theatre to watch this. I little red mixed in with other fairytales, its called shrek. But you never know and that's what DVD or the internet is for.

I agree with most of what you say, M. Hoodwinked was better than some other crap for kids thats been released in recent years, but I honestly could barely make it through the first one.

While I concur that the look of it doesn't need to be pretty to get my attention - and that it's sophistication makes nice commentary on the usual genre, like you said - Shrek. Perhaps if it wasn't for Shrek's prior existence to Hoodwinked I would have liked it more. But chances are it inspiredd Hoodwinked more than just happened to be similar.

As for the sequel, it seems gimmicky and lame. I may give it a chance later on in life if I remember it - which is why I probably say "this month" I refuse to see. More or less this whole series is put in place to make a statement that just because I review movies I won't support Hollywood's continual effort in making the unoriginal or the unecessary. Hookwinked Too falls into that category.
